Getting started with Ghost Backend
Describe the backend you need in plain English on the home page. Ghost Backend reads your description, designs a database schema, writes REST endpoints, and deploys everything to a live URL — all in about a minute.
Authentication
If your description mentions logins, accounts, or permissions, Ghost Backend automatically adds email and password authentication. Every request to a protected endpoint requires a Bearer token, returned when a user signs up or logs in.
Making requests
Every generated backend includes a base URL and an API key. Include the key in the Authorization header of your requests, and call the listed endpoints exactly as shown in the example curl commands on your results page.
Limits
Ghost Backend is free. Each browser can generate up to three backends per day. Limits reset at midnight UTC.

Ghost Backend is built to collect as little information as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it's handled.
What we collect
When you describe a backend, we process that text to generate your API and database schema. We do not require an account, name, or email address to use the free tier. We store the description you provide, the schema generated from it, and the data your live backend holds while it remains active.
What we don't collect
- We do not sell personal data to third parties.
- We do not use your backend descriptions to train models without separate, explicit consent.
- We do not track you across other websites.
Generated data
Any database your generated backend creates is yours. You can delete it at any time from your dashboard, which permanently removes the schema, the data, and the API key associated with it.
Cookies
We use a minimal, anonymous identifier stored in your browser to enforce the daily free-tier limit. This identifier is not linked to any personal profile.

These terms govern your use of Ghost Backend. By generating a backend, you agree to them.
The service
Ghost Backend generates and hosts a REST API and database based on a description you provide. The service is offered free of charge, subject to a daily generation limit per user.
Acceptable use
You may not use Ghost Backend to generate or host backends that store illegal content, facilitate fraud, violate the rights of others, or attempt to abuse, overload, or reverse engineer the underlying generation system.
Ownership
You retain ownership of the data stored in any backend you generate. Ghost Backend retains ownership of the underlying platform, infrastructure, and generation technology.
Availability
Ghost Backend is provided on a best-effort basis. Because it is a free service, we do not guarantee uptime, data retention beyond a reasonable period, or availability of generation capacity at any given moment. Generated backends may be removed after extended inactivity.
Limitation of liability
Ghost Backend is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, revenue, or business arising from use of the service.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
